After 3 years of Rosetta Stone Mandarin I finally gave up. We had very little progress and my kids weren't coming close to learning how to read or write Mandarin with Rosetta Stone. I decided on Better Chinese and it has been great. They are learning and when they watch Mandarin DVDs now they are able to pick out characters they know. I am using supplements to cover learning pinyin and how to perfect their tones.

Grade Levels Used I am using My First Chinese Reader with my 2nd grader and 4th grader.
How long did you use this? I have been using this for almost a year.
Pros My children are learning using Better Chinese! They are learning how to read, write, and speak Mandarin. The teacher's manual is available in English which I use all the time. I also love their online curriculum to go along with My First Chinese Reader.
Cons No instruction on pinyin or tones
